How can I connect my Garmin GPS to my car stereo so it interrupts my music when it says a command?

Question : How can I connect my Garmin GPS to my car stereo so it interrupts my music when it says a command?
I want to connect my Garmin Nuvi 360 to my Mazda 6 car stero. I know how to connect it via an FM modulator, but can I make it so it will interrupt what I am listening to in order to state the commands (not over the music)? Any thoughts?

Unless your stock system has a mute function in the wiring setup…doubt it would work. Some after market head units have a mute wire for connection to a cell phone. When the phone rings, your system mutes. Not sure if Garmin provides this sort of output either. The FM modulated setup just puts the voice into your radio when it speaks.

I would contact Garmin tech support for more options.
