Need to give you expert advice on the Denon receiver?
I first Denon April 3803rd I have a video cable from my plasma current for the receiver and a video cable into my cable box from Time Warner in plasma as well. I then tried to run an optical connection from cable box to Denon for audio. Under the system, the decoder is the same as “DBS” is? In addition, for the optical audio connection to my Denon that suppossed to go to an “optical” or “optical out”. Thank you, I am not an expert so I mean, if my question seems really basique.Réponse

DBS is perfect if you want the decoder. You want on the optical in. This connection is an input on the receiver while an optical output would be used to send a digital audio signal into a digital recording device as a stand-alone CD writer. As shown in the wiring, your receiver has a very interesting feature called component video upscaling. This allows you to check all cables for each component (DVD, cable box, VCR, and what else than watching TV) for audio and video inputs and receiver connnection a set of component video ports to connect to a TV. In this way the receiver handles audio and video signals. Whatever you chose to listen to the receiver, the TV at the same time is out. In this way, you do not have to spend on the most entries on TV. Unfortunately it will not work for HDMI on your receiver, if not the video cable to the box you câble.Note: Although you can connect the optical cable for sound only the receiver, remember when the Zone 2, the power of a group of speakers in a want to use another room (another nice feature on your receiver), you must also connect a pair of analog audio cable from any device connected to the receiver because the receiver has only an analog processor for Digital and it will not feed the digital audio stream on the second zone than analog.
Your setup theory is ok except for you do not need two connections to your plasma. I would keep it as simple as possible and run one video cable to your receiver and one audio cable to your receiver from the cable box. The single video cable from the receiver to your plasma is sufficient.
-The optical cable from the cable box connects from the cable box OUTPUT to the receiver INPUT.
-DBS is a type of digital broadcast and can apply to cable or satellite , (DSS being used interchangeable also), so that’s is correct.
