The average price for a DVD player in the car?
My BF wants a new audio system and DVD player in his Camaro for Christmas. I know nothing about these things …. He wants a screen in the race and maybe 2 rear head restraints. Who are these things to know before, what the prices would?

Headrest DVD System
I’m sure you have heard you get what you pay for. There is tons of junk on the market since lcd screen production costs have dropped. But on the upside, look into Pioneer. They have a great picture quality for the price. I personally install tons of them and very rarely do I encounter any problems with them. If you buy online, theres a 50/50 chance your getting a refurbed unit, or there won’t be any warranty. You best bet is to find a local car audio shop and see what the “installers” are using. Us installers will not put something inn our personal rides if it was junk. And if you research online, here are a few to look up. Alpine, Kenwood, Panasonic (they make a great dvd touchscreen for the price), and last but not least sony. They have a nice unit called the X-AV1 I believe, and it is great for building a soundsystem as well as having video. As far as headrest monitors, there’s one choice for those, Alpine. I have been installing going on 20 years and I have seen it all, skimp on quality for the sake of price, and you will be upgrading pretty soon after it’s installed.
