How do I make my big speakers Cerwin-Vega Hi-Fi with my laptop?
I went home speakers that I died in the mid 90s, the use and purchase up to my stereo receiver. Now I use my laptop for music. How do I connect the two? The Cerwin-Vegas has a great sound no speaker has ever approached.

you need to amplify the sound to make it work. .. Basically, you need a receiver or amplifier.

You really need to get a new receiver. Then you can just plug your laptop into the aux in.
What’s the model number of the Cerwins? They’re my favorite brand. Excellent low end. I have a set of DX9′s that I have had since 1993. They are irreplacable. I use DX1′s for my center and surround speakers. Needless to say I don’t need a subwoofer…

get a simple amplifier – lots on ebay for sale -run your laptop headphone or line out jack into the inputs of the amplifier and enjoy.
You could find a simple receiver at any of the big box stores in $ 200 zone that woudl have more than enough power.
Check out yard sales you never know what you could find or ask around a friend could have their older stero in the basement and that woudl work great
