I personally like www.picasa.com
you can organize your photos, edit them and print/share them. It is a free download.

picasa is good… flikr is popular, too– best thing about flikr is that you can use your pre-existing yahoo account!
if you want something offline, Adobe Bridge is very nifty… makes galleries out of file folders that you can then take the generated code and imput it into your site (if you have one)
if you have Macromedia (now Adobe) Flash, you can make a flash-based photo slideshow that’s popular with alot of image hosting sites, the only difference is that if you make one yourself, you have full control over the way it looks and works!
these are just some of my ideas and tools that i’ve used over the years… go to flikr, picasa, and the adobe sites to learn more and see which feels best!
