I send fax from 2 different machines connected to same phone line, how do i chose which one will receive faxes?
Question : I send fax from 2 different machines connected to same phone line, how do i chose which one will receive faxes?
I have a fax upstairs and 1 down stairs, I send faxes through both, I receive faxes through the machine upstairs but i want to switch that so i can receive them down stairs instead as my office is down stairs.
Please help.

There will be an option in both of the fax machines to receive faxes or not. you can simply turn this off for one machine and on for the other.
The other option is to set the number of rings before answering a fax less on the machine which you want to take the faxes. This way, the fax machine with a higher ring count will only answer the faxes if the other machine is turned off.
Hi Dj Soprano: I think that all you have to do is turn off the auto fax receive on the upstairs fax & turn on the auto fax receive on the downstairs fax. You can verify this by calling your fax number from a cell phone while you are near the downstairs fax & see if it answers. It may not answer since it is listening for fax tones from the originating end. Have a friend with a fax send a test message to you. You may have to do programming for the number of rings you want.
