go to an optometrist (in the US) or an optician (in the UK). they’ll give you a written Rx for contacts. you’ll enter those numbers into the website, as well as the name and fax number of your doc/optician. the website is required by law (in the US) to “verify” your Rx by contacting your doctor and confirm:

a) that you had an exam and the date and expiration of the Rx
b) that you entered the correct Rx
