we used to use them now we use cell phones
We used to use the them during our convey. it is very useful and no calling cost. when u said thing everyone heard. i feel that it is very useful for car traveling especially you have few car travel together. u can communicate all day long.
i use either CB ratio (more powerful) or handheld. you need to identify what band do you need or government allow. usually UHF/ VHF is good enough and clear. some of the two way radio even tri-band which you almost can receive all even the weather channel.
