Question : Making a custom photo card invitation (niece’s birthday). PLEASE help me with the correct measurements!?
I’m using PhotoShop program and I want the invitation size to be 4×6. When I simply select the 4×6 option, the bottom, right corner with half of my text information is cut off when I print. What are the CORRECT measurements that I am suppose to use to print my entire card?? Thanks! :)

The reason they are being cut off is probably that your camera is a point and shoot and therefore uses a 4:3 aspect ratio. A DSLR or a 35mm camera uses a 3:2 aspect ratio. A 4×6 print is a perfect match to a camera that uses a 3:2 aspect ratio. A camera that uses a 4:3 aspect ratio will require cropping.

Now there are a couple of things you can do.

1. Resize you pictures so they will fit inside a 4×6 print. You can do about 5.25 inches on the long side and the short side should be just about 4 inches. Then when you get your prints you can trim off the white space. You can also play around with the size so that you will have a uniform white border around the card.

2. Your other options are to rearrange your text taking into account where the photo will be cropped or you can try a different size card. A 5×7 is closer to the correct aspect ratio though it will still need some cropping.
