Question : i have BOSE speakers plugged into a small lcd tv. when the tv is off, I’m still hearing cable audio. why?
i’ll clarify.
my tv has rca jacks connecting it to a couple of small bose speakers. sounds great, works great, etc. but when i shut off the tv, the audio from the channel i was just watching continues to feed through the bose speakers.
anybody know why this might be happening? i have those speakers hooked up to another device as well so i can’t just turn the volume down as a solution.
my tv is not hooked to a cable box. cables run straight from the tv to the speakers.

Is your tv hooked to a cable box? The cable boxes never really go off so maybe that is the reason.
There could be audio on the cable for many reasons. A TV wouldn’t pick it up, but there could be enough leakage for the speakers to pick it up.
It could be that your TV never really shuts off, it just mutes the speakers and blanks the picture.
