Question : Question about digital photo printing?
I have a number of Digital pictures that I’d love to print out and put into scrapbooks &/or photo albums but I’m such a procrastinator…. I have a good quality photo printer – but my question is would it be cheaper to print them out myself after factoring in ink & paper purchases or to order from a company (walgreens, walmart, shutterfly, etc.)?
What has your experience been?
If through a company, what company has the best value/price/quality? THANKS!

Go to the store. Printing them yourself would cost a lot cause ink is not cheap. Good luck on the album. =p

It would be cheaper, easier, and faster to just do it from a print company.
If you are too much a procrastinator I would suggest shutterfly since it is inexpensive and they are shipped to your door and you don’t have to leave your house to upload them or anything.
As for Walmart, I would suggest their 1-hour service. The mail-out and Kodak Picture maker service aren’t the best. The only thing to consider is that they are only printed in matte, so if you want them glossy, you will have to look else were. I have never tried Walgreen’s, but I do not like the print service at Rite-aid pharmacy. -

I like printing them myself but I think you can get more bang for your buck taking them to somewhere like walmart. Just photoshop them the way you like and then save them on a portable USB drive. If you’re really picky, you could print one photo at each of your chosen “companies” just to compare the output quality first before you commit to doing a whole batch.

I use CM Photo center…the print quality of professionally printed photos will always be better than any ink jet or laser printer can provide, simply because of the way they’re printed. I have an awesome HP photo printer that I adore, and it’s great for quick prints, but you can really tell the difference in the quality if you put them side by side with lab prints. The prints are $ .19 for 4×6 or 4xd (these are for photos taken with digital cameras, traditional 4×6 prints automatically crop digital photos. if u want quality – u should go to walmart, but cheaper will be if u gonna do it by urself with ur printer
