USB driver for mobile phone, avoiding bulky software?
Question : USB driver for mobile phone, avoiding bulky software?
I would like to connect my mobile phone to my computer with the appropriate USB cable (which I have). The phone comes with a 44 mb “Suite” that installs a fancy interface with lots of features I don’t need.
As a proponent of keeping installed software to a necessary minimum, I’m looking for a simple driver that would enable me to access the phone via Windows Explorer without installing the “Suite”.
For the record, I’m running Windows XP (sp2) and my mobile phone is a Sony Ericsson W700i. Sony Ericsson’s website doesn’t offer any alternatives to the “Suite”.
Thanks!

i just plug mine in and use it as a removable drive.
I have had 3 sony erriccsons now and they have all worked this way without having to install the software.
plug it into the usb port
select file transfer mode on your phone (it will show up automatically)
wait a bit and your mem card will show up as being f or g drive prob.
I use this method to put music, pics and games on my phone with no probs.
