Question : Friends – Looking for good and unlimited broadband svc in Gurgaon. Help is appreciated.?
Would like to know whether it is good to go for DSL or Cable broadband?

Does anybody have a comparison of the various providers for the following parameters?

Speed (256/512kbps/1Mbps etc.)
Usage limits (unlimited/2Gig/3Gig limit etc.)
Quality of service (prompt customer service, minimal or no outages in service etc.)

Price (price plans, modem/router charges, installation charges etc.

After some quick browsing, I find that Tata Indicom offers an unlimited usage plan at 512kbps speed for Rs.1850 per month with no equipment and installation charges. Seems to be better than Airtel’s Unlimited 1249 plan which offers unlimited usage at 256kbps for Rs.1249 per month.

Boss if you have BSNL there in Gugaon take it without even considering those Private players. Broad Band is the only BSNL service perhaps which is good. The Speed is 2MBPS and the unlimited plan charge is 900/-. Why spend 1850 on Tata or Airtel. Nobody can provide 2 MBPS connection except them….yes this is true I have checked the Speed it is around 1.5 during peak hours and 2 during night. Can U believe I downloaded 100MB in 10 min at about 10:30 PM. What more can U expect…..Take BSNL since their Broad Band Rocks. If not then I guess 256 and 512 KBPS is more or less same since the Surfing rate will be faster but the Download Rate is 1/6th of the Rate and their there is not much of a Difference…………..And yes Customer Service issue you won’t be needing much anyway. And nowadays Tata is no Good. Look at indicom and Tata Sky. Both of them are bad. Yes and one more thing Airtel is Good but they claim to Provide 256 Kbps but can’t do that exacly. And yes finally 2MBPS and 256 KBPS Differ…………..
