Question : Why does my Macbook power adapter only work when I hold it on physically?
Its pretty obvious there is probably something wrong with the connectors on the adapter but my regular Macbook power cord only works when i tape the male end of the adapter directly to my Macbook tightly. Even when I do this it charges really slowly and will randomly stop charging. Is there any quick fixes until I attempt buying a new adapter?

It probably is a wire lose inside the insulation at the plug. But it maybe the plug inside your lap top it is soldered into the mother board and if jerked out or twisted it can break loose. You should take both the lap top and A/C charger in to a computer store repair center and have checked as to not have one of them short out.
