Question : Do you need a special security code to transfer an OEM radio from one vehicle to another?
I recently bought a 1996 Nissan Maxima with a defective CD player. I would like to purchase another OEM stereo but before I do, I need to know if you can just take the old one out and put the new one in, OR if you need some kind of security code to do it? There are some good prices for OEM radios on Ebay but I don’t want to buy it just to find out I can’t install it.

nissan is not using security codes but it is very important that you buy the same model radio
some look a like but the plugs are not the same or requiered a bose amplifier
