Question : What is the perfect geometry for the screen of a 17′ monitor?
I would like to know the pincushion, trapezoid, parallelogram, pin balance, and the top and bottom corners. I have been having problems setting my monitor screen the way it was before. I am hoping some one can give me the numbers on their monitor and see if that helps me. I don’t have a reset button on the menu of the monitor but if some one can help me figure this out it would be most appreciated.

There are no perfect numbers. It is going to vary from monitor to monitor and from mode to mode.

If the manufacturer knew the perfect numbers they would not be putting the controls on there for people to mess with.

The best I can suggest is that you go though these controls in sequence a few times. After a two to four of cycles it should look good.

Adjust trapezoid so that the sides look roughly symmetrical
Adjust parallelogram so that the top corners are above the bottom corners.
Adjust pin balance so that both sides are equally curved.
Adjust pincushion to get the sides as straight as possible. Particularly in the middle.
Adjust the top and bottom pin to get the sides as straight as possible.

Repeat.

It may help to reduce the height and width a little so that all the corners are visible on the screen.
