Question : How do I get a broadband connection as well as wireless?
When I move, I am going to upgrade my internet to Insight’s 20.0 broadband service. What I want is one computer constantly connected via broadband and the other computers getting wireless. What hardware would I need and a brief connection explanation would be most helpful. (I already have the surfboard) Thanks.

all you need is a broadband wireless router

these normally come with your broadband package for free, but if it doesnt, buy a d-link wireless router like these

http://www.google.com/products?oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=d-link+wireless+router&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=dlo2SuTnKNfPjAea6Z2CCg&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&resnum=4&ct=title

but i would suggest you buy one from your local shop to get a wee bit of advise too if your new to this… they also come with a very good quick-start guild for newbies if you go with d-link.

when you buy this it will come with a yellow Cat45 cable about a meter long (will say Cat45 on it), or if it doesn’t, buy a Cat45 network cable (normal light gray) from the same shop, they come in a variety of length to suit all needs!

then follow the quick-start guide that came with the router, ensuring that you use the cable (yellow or gray) to connect the router to the primary computer.

the ports which to plug this cable in are easy to find, they look a bit like a telephone socket, but bigger and are the only ones on the router (pick port one, probably on the back) and your computer which it will fit into.

hope this helps! post additional details if you need more help!
