Well you either can have spl or sq, not both. most 15′s will not have great sq. But if your looking for both of those, I would suggest JL audio or Alpine.

Question : how do i unlock all channels on handheld scanner?
somehow, i’ve managed to lock out all the channels on my handheld PRO-95 dual trunk-tracking handheld scanner from radioshack. the screen has 0123456789 on the top line, ++++++++++ on the second line and “all channels locked out!” on the third and fourth lines. the owner’s manual is complete gibberish to me. i need to get it back to scanning the police/fire channels asap. help?

most scanners have one button that says scan, and another that says manual. if it’s saying all channels locked out you most likely need to manually go one at a time and press a button that says l/o or maybe a pic of a lock, then the display should deactivate the locked out message. you will need to check all programmed channels to unlock all of them.

Find podsafe music (music that is legal to download for free from where-ever) its not licensed so you should be fine. Try searching in the itunes store for “Dust For Eyes”, its a dj who mixes podsafe music you can download for free! I dont think you can get in trouble for playing popular songs at a paid event, nightclubs do it everyday. Where your problem might come from is charging admission, you need a license (stupid government) to charge admission, but not donations!

We’re redoing the basement, and we have a blank white wall, and figured we could get a projector instead of a brand new TV. Would this be cheaper? If so, what kind of projector should we get to fit those dimensions, preferably HD?

Projectors are great for the BIG PICTURE. But they have one big disadvantage relative to a flatscreen TV … lamps need to be replaced every couple of years (typically 3000 hrs of use) and cost $ 250+.
That said, a basement provides a good light controlled room for a projector and you can build, paint or buy a screen on your wall. The distance to the screen is possibly more important than the width of the room (although 24′ width allows for lot’s of seating; one of the big advantages of a projector is that it allows more than 3-4 people to watch).
The real limiting factor is ceiling height, although 8′ allow a 100″+ screen.
As to what projector, there are lot’s of choices. For movies I’d suggest an HD model (at least 720p). They start at about $ 600 for a good brand. 1080p models start at about $ 1000. Note that this may not be cheaper than a flatscreen HDTV … but you get an image at least twice as big.
