How much does a wedding photography package cost?

Question : How much does a wedding photography package cost?
I’m in Sydney – I want to have photos at my house, the ceremony, bridal party photos and at the reception. Any idea how much I’m looking at?
I looked on a few websites, but just thought someone might have an idea… Thanks

I’m in the US. Mine is $ 1200 (US $ ), includes engagement session and wedding for 5 hours, digital negatives of all pictures, 10 artistically enhanced images, NO album

Too much… very easy to get taken…
Lessen the task by passing out lots of cameras at the reception, luncheon, rehearsal.to your guests with a cute little message from the bride and groom letting them know how important their photos are to Both of you.

well for crappy photos here in the USA you are looking at 500.00 for what you are looking for 1200.00 but if you do it right and have 2 photographers and doing in digital and film for 10hrs of service and also them doing engagement photos an all that 3,000.00 us dollars this is the one thing you don’t want to scape on don’t make a friend do it they might not get the shots you want and you get upset at them also don’t get tons of people taking pics at your wedding an rehearsal by leaving disposable cameras around and this is why i say everyone is going to want to take the same shot and due to flash an lights most photos will not come out well also at the reception now if you want to leave one at every table and make a note you want everyone to take photos of everyone at the table so you can do it in a scrap book great but i really snub on the idea pay someone to do the job an make sure you get someone that can do it and do it well

In California…I think average is $ 2500-3500, but it can easily go up to $ 5000. I just paid $ 2700 and that included 5 hours w/ 2 photog’s, online viewing, proofs, pic’s on a disc and a very elaborate album..(which I probably won’t get for a year). No prints, no engagement session.

My advice, try to get the most hours in your package as possible.

I am in Brisbane and I am looking into the cost of this for my own wedding. I am finding that the average BASIC package costs around $ 800. This includes the bride getting ready, the groom waiting at church, service, one location of choice, mock dance and cutting of cake. I am just having a photographer take photos for me and I will print them and but an album together myself, there are so many software options to put together professional images, I just need the pictures taken. I have got a quote for 400 dollars.

Our photographer charged $ 1100.00 for 5 hours. Included were all photos in a book (digital and standard). Prices when we order pics are $ 15.00 for 8×10, $ 8.00 for 5×7 and $ 3.00 for 4×6.

If it’s anything like here in the US, be careful. They’ll bleed you dry with sitting fees and print fees. We paid $ 2400, my niece’s were $ 30K. You could get an idea of what this is in AU$ D by doubling it.
