I am going to Australia and I need a phone. I found a cheep Sat phone rental but is that the right way to go. I mean will it work if i am standing by a widow in a hotel or on a bus.thank you

Cell phone is best ,from each n every angle.
You do not need a Satellite Phone unless you are traveling to a remote & un known destination .. and Cell Phone would be just fine and lot more cheaper, try RebelFone, an International Cell Phone Company who have local AUS Sim Cards:
