Question : Are ProClear Toric Multifocal contacts okay for extended wear?
Have been wearing Bausch and Lomb MultiFocals for 30 days continuous wear with no problems and I love them. Problem is that my astigmatism has reared its ugly head (wore old-style hard and RBP lenses for years and it sort of held that in check). Doc has ordered a trial pair of ProClear Toric Multifocals, as they can treat my myopia, astigimatism and presbyopia (ah, the joys of getting older) in one lens. Can’t find a lot of information about these lenses online. They are made of omafilcon A and are a 30-day disposable, but I don’t know if they’re okay for continuous wear like my B&L lenses. Also looks like it’s a different style of correction — switching powers for dominant and non-dominant eye…sounds like I’ve got a huge learning curve ahead. But back to the original question — can I use these as extended wear lenses? I truly have enjoyed being able to see when I wake up in the morning…

No, they are not approved for continuous wear. They are a 30 day disposable that must be removed for sleeping.

Being a toric makes the difference. I don’t know of any toric lenses that can be slept in.
