Question : My 90 evaluation is x-mas week and i just got hired full time at walmart. When does my vacation start?
When will i start to receive vacation time? I was told immediately after becoming full-time. What else am i entitled to now that i am full-time?

LOL-you just got full time and you’re thinking vacation, eh? Walmart doesn’t give you full vacation days based on length of service like many employers. Instead you accrue vacation time on a calculation based on hours actually worked for them so working full time you will have more than a part-timer in any given stretch of time. Check your new-hire manual or ask them in personnel for the actual calculation. Their old manuals used to give examples for an average number of hours worked in a year so you’d have an idea of what you’ll have at your next hire-date anniversary-not sure if they still do that though. They don’t assign you vacation days, you have to request them once you have enough to “cash in.” Sorry to say you won’t have much your first year but you will have some.

Now that you are full-time you will also start accruing sick time too in much the same way vacation time adds up. Once you reach 192 hours of unused sick time it converts anything new to personal time. You’ll be eligible for their 10% employee discount, Christmas “extra” discount on food, and you will now be able to sign up for their insurance-though many of it’s benefits still have various waiting periods.
