my family takes pictures, like family pictures, starting on thanksgiving.
(before dinner, all dressed up, hair done! haha)
but if you have most of the family you’ll be sending christmas cards to over at your house during thanksgiving, i’d suggest taking a few copies of your kids’ school pictures from august or september.
another idea would be to go to one of those professional photography places towards the end of November, and send them all out by December 6th or around there, just in case the mail carrier is slow or there’s a malfunction. that way you’ll have enough time to fix any problems or changed addresses before christmas.

My family takes pictures, like family pictures, around thanksgiving when were all together.
We usually do it after dinner when were all fed and happy.
It’s nice to do it whenever you want at all times of the year to create memories and funny moments so you can put them on the cards. Old photos from early Christmases are nice because it creates conversation and it’s a good time for all the generations to reminisce on the past. Now would actually be a good time to start putting ideas together for the cards like designs and the color schemes you will be doing. I’m doing mine now, and you can use it if you want, I’m doing the traditional colors like red, gold, silver etc and last year I took some stunning pictures of the snow when it was falling and frosty mornings, so they will be going in the pictures to put on the cards. If your still unsure about what to do, try asking Google or friends who do this. In the end, what you do will be entirely up to you, because it will be your Christmas and your cards. Most people do that around Thanksgiving, but its up to you, I do Christmas stuff all year around, I love Christmas!! Im finished all my Christmas cards already
