Does anybody know which Anti-spyware software is the best?

I think the 2 best commercial antispyware programs are considered (1) Webroot’s Spysweeper and (2) PC Tools’ Spyware Doctor. These are very good memory-resident programs that have automatic updates, but you’ll have to PAY for them.

The best FREE memory resident antispyware is Spyware Terminator. It will update itself automatically and provides great protection. Check out the review on my freeware blog:

You could use Spyware Terminator alongside another ‘immunizer’ antispyware program without taking more resources from your computer. These immunizers work by changing your system such that spyware thinks its already instaleld. I recommend Spyware Blaster. Go here for a review:

I believe that you will get very adequate protection if you used the 2 above together, in addition to a firewall (Comodo Firewall and Zonealarm are 2 free excellent ones).

Other free antispyware programs: Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and destroy, and Microsoft Defender. Although I think Spyware Terminator is the only memory resident free program that you can install-and-forget that will automatically update itself. Most of the others want you to upgrade to the non-free version for auto updates.

I got the best results with the above combo (Spyware Terminator, Spyware Blaster and Comodo Firewall). I think you can be almost 99.9% sure that you have comprehensive protection. All 100% FREE, no need for piracy.
