Why is the value of a stamp always crossed out when there’s a picture of it online?
Question : Why is the value of a stamp always crossed out when there’s a picture of it online?
I noticed that whenever a website puts a picture of a stamp online the value (ex: 44) always has a line through it. Why? Do I have to do this if I put pictures of stamps online?

In all probability so no one would copy it and use it to mail letters thus defrauding the post office. I think if it were me I would do the same with any stamps I put on line as it may come back to you to reimburse the post office. Do you remember when the copying machines first came out and copies were made of the paper money. That would be an example for you.
