Why do some cell phone providers charge for when people call YOU?
Question : Why do some cell phone providers charge for when people call YOU?
We don’t have this here in Australia, but I’ve heard that in America some cell phone providers actually charge you for when you RECEIVE a call, not just send it. Is this true? And if so, why does this happen?

it is true. i live in seattle washington and my carrier is tmobile. it doesnt matter who is your carrier here or all over united states. incoming and outgoing calls have charges as well as the text messages are the same incoming and outgoing. why? you got me!!! dont know the answer to that question and i think someone should tell the lawmakers (congress and senate) to look into it…
They charge for the “air time” that you use. Depending on your plan, you might get a certain number of free minutes per month, or free nights and weekends, or free calls to other phones on the same provider. It’s very complicated.
