Voice Over Internet Protocol…it’s a telephone using the Internet as the transmission line. You must subscribe to a company like Vonage [the best yet], TimeWarner [too expensive], MagicJack [cheap, but ??] and a host of others. I have been using Vonage for 7+ years and am very happy. My wife calls China for 1 penny a minute, European calls are Free. Vonage sent me a Device free, it’s an easy hookup. I also use VOIP for sending faxes. You do need an Internet Provider also, I use TimeWarner.

The main principle of VoIP is simply calls made over the Internet, but the most often asked question by consumer is, which VoIP service is better.
Better or worse? Like in most cases are subjected to ones perspective. In the VoIP case, it is subject to where and how often you would use your VoIP phone.
