i want to connect 2 tvs close to each other to one cable box. does using a y adapter for the component cable affect quality?
or is it better to connect one through component and the other through hdmi/s-video? thanks!

splitting signals will always effect your quality. weather or not you will notice the difference is the question. I would use the hdmi and component cables since they are the best cords anyway and there will be no signal splitting.
You cannot do that.
Video signals need to see a uniform 75 ohm path to the one TV. A “Y” adapter on the analog cables will mess this up.
You can try using both component and HDMI, but my cable box started throwing HDCP errors when I tried this and down-graded the component output to 480 as a copy protection issue.
