Question : blocked, private, restricted numbers harrassing my phone?
my work cell gets calls (all hang-ups) from restricted numbers about 10 times a day.
when i answer, they hang up. when i dont answer, they dont leave a message.
they call at all hours of the day and night. i sometimes receive 3 or 4 calls at like four a.m. on weekends
i figure whoever it is, they go out and get drunk at a club or bar and come home and start dialing.
id like to put some kind of number logger on my phone just so i can find out who it is. i have contacted my cell phone carrier, and they tell me to change my number. (thanks for nothing). and i have contacted the police, (who said they cant do anything unless there are threats).
changinf my number is not possible since it is a work phone and i have given it to so many business contacts over the years. i couldnt replace them all. and if i left my new number on my voicemail, the caller would obviously get my new number.
this is so frustrating, i wanna throw my phone out a window.
what action can i take?

You have a ton of contacts so obviously have emails or numbers for them. Send a giant email to everyone letting them know you’ve changed your number, it’s not that difficult.
I had this same thing happen to me last year. The bad thing was that my work would call me and that number would also show up as unavailable so I would have to stop and answer the phone. I checked with the cell carrier to see if they could find out the number that was calling me and that did not work as they cannot track unavailable/restricted/private phone numbers. Unavailable is someone who has a block from the phone company and that is how my work would show up so I assigned a ring tone for unavailable. The restricted and private phone numbers are from residential I assigned a silent ring tone from them. I also bought myself a track phone and all the important customers on my route plus work got that phone number so I never missed a call. I shut my cell phone down and when the prankster called in it went straight to voicemail. I did this for two weeks and went back to my cell phone again NO more prank calls. You can do what ever you like to do but it worked for me
