How do I find models for my new photography business. What should my card read? How to approach possible mdls?
Question : How do I find models for my new photography business. What should my card read? How to approach possible mdls?
I am in the process of making my business cards, so some catchy ideas will be great. Also, how do I approach someone that I may feel would be great for a photoshoot, or headshots without them thinking I am some perv? I am serious about that. I have passed up so many prospective models. Any and all serious suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Go to an agency and then make your demands. The agent will then show snaps and you can choose the girl for the shoot.

stress the word professional if that is indeed what you are. be clear about what you will be shooting…… having something catchy can be a bit too cool and scare people away …. if you have a folding card then put specifics inside and leave the outside with just your logo or name that way there is a bit of a mystery when reading it not all is told at a glance and when someone opens the card they have made a small commitment to being interested.
as to approaching woman for models wear old raggedy clothes, no wait that’s the other scam. lol be honest and look them in the eye not at their chest ….their boobs can’t see you lol…and you give yourself away every time you do that. just be sincere and talk to them like you normally would if you try too hard to be professional or sincere then you come off as neither. The generation that you will be most likely to shoot is rather exhibitionistic anyway so finding models won’t be too hard especially if you put you good work on your website so they can see the end results and then be tempted to give you call.

If you’re interested in getting models, especially the good ones, you’ve gotta think fashion. I like the following ideas:
Models, Inc.
Fashionista Photography
VII Pictures
Images Inc.If you want to approach a potential model and not look like a perv, you’ve got to be dressed like the part. Make them take you seriously. Look them in the eye, tell them what you think, give them a card. I’d probably put your name on top of the card too, so it would look more professional (see example below):
Bob Jones, Photographer
Models, Inc.And be sure to offer them something…alot of aspring models love test shots because they can have the free images (and photographers love it because they don’t have to pay the models)..if they like you’re work, they’ll come back (and tell their friends). You may also want to consider calling up a few good agencies around town to see if they are looking for a photographer to be on staff, or at least someone they can refer their new models to.

You may want to get insured and bonded and put this on your card. Many people are cautious and have lost all trust in photographers.
