Question : Has the military ever thought about putting tracking devices on the soldiers? Is this a good idea?
With what just happened with Pfc. Bowe R. Bergdahl, is it wise for the military to put tracking devices on the soldiers? Obviously, if the military put some tracking device on the helmet or uniform, that would immediately be taken away by the captors. If this is a good idea, should we possibly put tracking devices on the soldiers’ underwear or some other hard to find area, since this may never be taken away/found by the Taliban, for instance.

No, once they found out about the tracking, they will put it in a abandon buildings and setup a ambush there.
No… the second the enemy found out that we put tracking devices on our service members, they would stop taking prisoners and just execute them at the scene where they captured them.
