Question : Needing help with a workstation client install; detail to follow below…?
I am attempting to install a Sage Mas 90 (vs 4.0) workstation client to a new machine running Window 7 Pro (32 bit vs). When attempting the install through network via a mapped drive, I get the following error message…

“Set up is being run from an UNC path. MAS90 workstation must be run from a physical or mapped drive. Map a drive and run workstation set up again.”

As mention, I am installing fro a mapped drive. I do not have this problem with machines running Windows XP; only the Windows 7. What are some possible solutions to remedy this installation problem?

Other notations: Server platform is Windows 2000 sever, service pack 4.
I do have administrative rights on the network and the local machine. I think the rights may still be an issue as the Win 7 machine allows me to load some of my network printers with no problem, but it does not allow me to install my HP 4200 network printer for some reason…from network or CD.

You may be having some security issues that prevent Windows 7 to get a full control of the files you are installing; the message is telling you copy the files to the local disk (Desktop/downloads, etc) and then run the install. By the way, when you run as administrator this is the local administrator; it does not have full rights over the network.

Good luck!
