Question : Does anyone actually prefer voice activated phone menus?
I always end up ready to go on a postal killing spree when I have to deal with voice activated phone menus. You know, where there is not even the option to use the phone buttons? Why in h*ll would I want to “say” my social security number when I could just type it, or advertise to everyone in earshot what I’m doing as I navigate the idiotic menus? Not to mention that I just feel like an idiot talking to a machine for no good reason. If there are three choices, how about typing 1,2 or 3? Also not to mention that the stupid thing misunderstands you 25% of the time, or if there is background noise it keeps stopping and saying “I’m sorry, I didn’t get that”. It happened recently when I was on the side of the road trying to get roadside assistance. Frustrating? Is there some lobby for the fungerless, or people who still somehow have a rotary dial phone? Ugh.
