Question : Do family cell phone plans split the minutes between everyone?
I was just looking over the plans for verizon and t-mobile, and the family plans say that you can get 700 minutes for $ 70 ($ 10 additional for each line). Does this mean each person gets 700 minutes or that every person has to share the minutes?

its best to specifically ask the provider exactly what 700 minutes means – it could be either.

but yes, family plans give you a certain amount of minutes divided out between members. in your case it may be 700 each, or 700 spit between 2, 3, or 4 people. (however many lines)

for $ 70 a month, i would assume the 700 minutes are the total amount of minutes for everyone to use.

my family plan costs about $ 250 a month for 4 people. my individual phone costs me about $ 50 a month, and the other family members pay the other $ 200 divided up.
