Question : do sidekick phones work on us cellular plans?
I was wanting a sidekick phone,but us cellular doesn’t provide them.I noticed that there are unlocked phones where they can work on any plan.Can they possibly work on U.S. Cellular.In any way at all?

Sidekicks are very hard to unlock. T-Mobile can’t even get an unlock code. Be careful when trying to buy an unlocked one because it may not actually be unlocked. IF you somehow manage to get one that really is unlocked, then it would still be pointless to use it with a carrier other than T-Mobile. I say that because you would only be able to make and receive calls on it if used with a different carrier. The data servers for the Sidekicks are only accessible through T-Mobile, and the data settings can’t be changed.

Sidekicks are used on T-Mobile, which is a TDMA/GSM based company. US Cellular is a CDMA based company. Even if you could unlock the phone, you would not be able to get it to work on US Cellular’s service. Especially since US Cellular phones do not use Sim Cards. So, unfortunately, the answer to the question is no.

If the Sidekick is unlocked then you can use a US Cellular SIM card in it, but unless you have a data plan with US Cellular you will not be able to have any of the Email or internet.
