Question : Is prior experience developing photos needed to work for Walgreens’ photo department?
I really need a job and have an extreme interest in learning the photo development process. I’d like to apply for a position in Walgreens’ photo department, but I don’t want to waste my application without knowing whether or not they will hire me without having experience developing photos. I am familiar with digital photo editing, but I haven’t worked in a dark room before. Anyway, I may lack experience, but I am motivated. Will lack of photo development experience disqualify an application to the photo department?

It’s just a machine. You stick the canister in a slot, press some buttons and file correctly. You can be taught on the job in 15 minutes but the question is, is the store asking that you have 3 years experience to sweep floors?
Working at a minilab will not involve darkroom work at all. Some minilabs are better than others, so hopefully you will have more training than 15 minutes. If they are running film, you should be taught basic set up and running control strips and how to read them. You will learn how to operate the machines, prepare film for processing, how to print digital and film, and their method for bagging, pricing and ringing the results. In a good lab, you will be taught color theory and basic correcting. You may also learn some machine maintenance, although in most labs the lab manager does most of that stuff.
You may also have to do some tasks in the store, help customers, stock shelves, run a cash register etc.
