Question : What GPS manufacturer offers the best deal for lifetime map and POI updates?
I have an older Garmin car GPS device that I recently updated. I had the option of a one-time map and POI update of around $ 60, or a lifetime update for a little more than twice as much.

I am in the market for a new car GPS device for a second car and am wondering if anyone knows what the update policies of the various car GPS manufacturers are and/or which manufacturer offers the best deal for lifetime updates.

Answer 2 is incorrect. TomTom definitely charges for updates. No satisfactory answers so far.
