What is the difference between an ethernet cable and a telephone cable/jack?
Question : What is the difference between an ethernet cable and a telephone cable/jack?
I am using a router to connect two computers to one internet connection using an ethernet connector. But I only got one ethernet cable and I need two. Can I used the telephone jack/cable connector?

Ethernet uses a category5 (CAT5) cable with 8 pairs of wires in an RJ-45 connector, where as a telephone wire (CAT2?) uses 2 pairs in a RJ-11 connector.
It will fit because it was made for backward capability, but it WILL NOT WORK HOW YOU WANT!
