President Barack Obama and the US Congress have set aside more than seven billion dollars to build broadband Internet networks to bring high speed computer access to every US home. Policy makers say construction of the network and its use will help create jobs in the global digital economy. The goal is to deliver affordable broadband service to people in rural and underserved communities. VOA’s Chris Simkins reports on how some older Americans might benefit from a faster connection to the World Wide Web.
