The GPX 2gb audio player has some attributes worth mentioning. It’s very inexpensive, easy to load, has decent sound, has an expansion slot for a memory card and is powered by a single AAA battery. And if what you want is a shuffle style player that you just turn on and turn loose, it should work fine. What this player is very poor at is searching for files and telling you what it is your listening to. It has no scroll feature, so you can’t just browse through what’s been loaded. The only way you can locate a specific file is through a tedious and very unreliable process in which you spell out the name of the artist, album or filename, one letter at a time, and hope for the best. If you’re lucky, the player might actually find what you’re looking for. This also means that you have to remember what’s been loaded on the player. Finally, the information that shows up on the screen when a file is playing is almost impossible to read, not just because it’s borderline unintelligible but because it’s only there for about two seconds before the backlighting shuts off and the screen goes blank.The player has a narrow window of usefulness, but within that window it does a reasonably good job.

Needing a MP3 player to use while doing overtime last October, I came across this reasonably priced MP3 player. It does the job it is meant to do. I used it time and time again and had no problems. Depending on the battery you use, time may increase or decrease. For Energizer batteries, I could average about ten hours, Duracell lasted about eight, and cheap dollar store batteries, about five or six. I have used this player daily for the past two weeks. I noticed some months ago that it never played my WMA music files. I didn’t think much of it until I put it to the test this past Thursday.I loaded about 28 MP3 files, and 25 WMA files. Long story short, I went home on my lunch break to add more MP3 files since I was working overtime that day. If you have a large amount of WMA files, purchase at your own risk.

Found this walking through Sears on sale for 15$ and could not pass it up. I have been looking for one to plug into my boats stereo since I did not want an antenea on it. Works great by itself or with an SD card. I loaded it with no problems with Vista on the comp. I have about 7 hrs on the battery and its still going. I also play it through my external computer speakers. The only downside (minor) is the earplugs that came with it were thrown away and upgraded with a better, comfortable set. -

As someone else already noted-If you want a player you can simply turn on and listen to music in no particular order, this is a good inexpensive choice. The 2GB SD card slot allows you to carry everything and just plug in the card you want [and makes me think of it as a tiny little 8-track tape player].
Probably best thought of as the mp3 version of those ‘seniors’ cellphones-if you just want it to turn on and play, this is a good choice.PRO- SD card slot

Wanted something inexpensive that I could run off a battery to listen to material too lengthy for a CD. This is perfect—it holds all the material I wanted with room for more and sounds good in the playback. It was easy to load using a windows vista/windows media player system. I have the very, very cute pink model. My minor complaint is that I haven’t figured out how to light up the display without resorting to adjusting the volume but that is not a big deal when one considers how cheaply you can carry around lots of material to listen to.
