RF connector is an electrical connector designed to work at radio frequencies in the range of multi-megahertz. RF connectors are typically used with coaxial cables and to maintain the shielding that the coaxial design offers. Better models also minimize changes in impedance of the transmission line connection. Mechanically they provide a fastening mechanism (thread, bayonet, braces, push-pull) and springs to a low impedance electrical contact while sparing the gold surface which includes more than 1000 again and reduce the insertion force. The research in the field of radio frequency (RF) circuit design jumped in the last ten years as a direct reaction to approve the huge demand for a high level of receptors for wireless data transfer.

Several types of coaxial connectors in the RF and microwave industry, each designed for a particular purpose and application. Much of the development of smaller ports are working well in the GHz range and millimeter waves have been tested by companies test strips. One of their considerations is the number of access cycles that a connector pair can separate everything works as expected in control.
