What are these PCB connectors “formally” called?
Question : What are these PCB connectors “formally” called?
I have no luck finding these in any distributor catalogue….
Please have a look at this photo http://www.east-west-exchange.com/Edge.pdf
So the motherboard has just square wire pins standing vertically, and then this daughter board plugs into them.
But where to get those “females”?
Note: This board was made in the UK many years ago…..

Hmm…I’ve seen a lot of things, but can’t say I’ve ever seen anything quite like that. Maybe you can make it work using a right angle MTA female (see Tyco AMP connectors). They’re for .025″ pins, but on 0.100″ centers. You could just skip every other one, or pull the contacts out of the connector for the ones you don’t need.
Sorry I don’t have the right answer, but hope this helps you anyway.
This looks like a very peculiar arrangement. These receptor “pins” don’t appear to have a mechanism to maintain proper spacing during soldering. Maybe they are mated to the male connector during soldering.
I don’t have a good answer for you, but I believe you should be able to find a right angle through hole connector that would work. Check out the SQT series at Samtec. This company is very good about getting you samples quickly. The pitch is 2mm, comes in single row, right angle. Good luck.
