Does the Panasonic HVX200 take any tapes at all?
Question : Does the Panasonic HVX200 take any tapes at all?
I’m looking at the Panasonic HVX200. I know it says it records on p2 cards. Especially since I’m shooting long form weddings, I can’t afford the ones with a lot of space. In a price comparison I thought it said something about DVCPRO tapes. But aren’t those about $ 30 each or more?

YES on tapes. NO on DVCPro tapes.
It uses standard MiniDV tapes. On those tapes, you can record in DV25 mode only – 480 lines (if NTSC).
On the P2 side, you can record any of the camera modes, including DV25.
