Is using the laptop as a monitor, accurate enough for pulling focus? I would like to have a camera operator and a focus puller but I would need them to both see the image in enough quality to preform their respective jobs. The other question is, is any monitor good enough to pull focus on the 5D with it’s SD output during recording.

Hi. Thanks for a great video. I would like to use this on my laptop too. I see that Canon has updated their software Version 2.8.1 /Released on 01-03-2010 with the following remark: “The Movie recording standby button on the Remote Live View screen has been eliminated for better operation.” Have you updated to 2.8.1. and how does that update affect usability when it comes to filming with the camera?

This is a great video! In this case, I wonder if it’s possible to use the iPad as well? That will replace any IKAN, Manhattan, etc those HDMI monitor out there in the future! Furthermore, the iPad is useful for other purpose when it’s not stuck on the rig.
Welcome any clue or discovery from you guys out there.
