Connecting PS3 to Samsung monitor with an HDMI cable + DVI-HDMI adapter
I have 3 PS3 and three monitors, one on left is the latest PS3, which seems recently (May 2009) and for some reason I can not control it with the Samsung SyncMaster 226BW via an HDMI cable with a cable HDMI works on DVI / converter. But when I connect the center of PS3 (purchased in September 2008) via an HDMI cable with a DVI-HDMI converter for the Samsung SyncMaster 226BW, it works and I get the picture. However, if I connect the PS3 left via the HDMI cable to a DVI-HDMI converter in mid Monitor Samsung T220HD, it works well and I take the picture. Who knows why? I am not connect new generations of suspicion of the PS3 with older monitors via HDMI to DVI converter? Thankss

@fatox318 I had the same problemo, I bought HP 2010i and when I connect it like other youtubers said, I received a black image and massage saying out of rang frequency 1600*900 Hz. So I changed it with full hd HP2210i, problem solved. To solve ur problem check ur monitor dvi (is it HDCP compatible or not)

Your problem is that for a monitor to display video from a dvi to hdmi or whatever kind of video conversion cable the monitor has to have support the type of video conversion your doing. Unfortunately it is very hard to find out if the monitor has this support built in and you will have to do searching on forms and tech sites.
